Introduction to Physical Education
Physical education is centered around the idea of educating through the physical, with the goal of developing students in the following ways:
1. Enhancing their physical competence and knowledge to cultivate positive values and attitudes.
2. Fostering their interest in sports activities to establish an active and healthy lifestyle.
3. Building their confidence and generic skills through a wide range of physical activities.
Key Stage 1 (Primary 1 to Primary 3):
By engaging in fundamental activities and physical play, students gain proficiency in movement skills, balance and stability skills, and equipment handling skills. Additionally, these activities foster collaboration, creativity, and aesthetic appreciation.
Key Stage 2 (Primary 4 to Primary 6):
The primary emphasis is on fundamental sports skills, which are taught through introductory activities and modified games. A well-rounded learning experience is provided to cater to the diverse developmental needs of students, covering areas such as track and field, ball games, gymnastics, dance, and more.
