Dear parents of APSW,
May the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you always!
As time goes by, we are approaching the end of the school year. Looking back, our children have experienced an unprecedented school year, the full resumption of face-to-face classes were only held for a few months and summer holiday is just around the corner. Thank God for his protection and guidance, enabled our teachers and students to live an “new normal” school life with good health under the pandemic of COVID-19. I am especially grateful that students are able to return to campus to resume face-to-face classes.
I am writing this letter in a complex mood since I am unsure of where to begin. I have just experienced the P.6 Graduation Ceremony and the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) with the P.6 students recently. Some of our students and families chose to study or emigrate overseas, which is devastating to hear. The American Inventor, Thomas Alva Edison once said, “The symbolic sign of a great person is his or her strong will. No matter how the environment changes, their initial intention is unalterable, aid them to overcome any obstacles that they come across and are able to reach to their desire goals.” If we transfer the willpower cultivated from our learning to our future career and life, it can surely enrich ourselves and undoubtedly lead us to a more fulfilling life ahead. I would like to wish our APSW graduates and parents good health in the future, may Lord’s grace be with you always.
I would like to sincerely thank you all for your understanding, support, tolerance, suggestions and encouragement towards our school. I very much appreciate and admire all of you to have taken time out to attend our events such as Parents’ Day, Parents’ Weekend, Parents’ Seminar and Summative Assessment Review Day. These events have encouraged more parents to become members of the APSW Parents’ Volunteers Team, who are willing to assist and support our school. I would like to thank you all again on behalf of APSW teachers and students for your enthusiastic participation and support in all events and ministry over the years.
To our children, thank you for bringing me countless moment of joy and happiness. What brings me joy is that I am delighted to be able to have had the opportunity to participate and create precious memories with you all on Physical Fitness Fun Day, STREAM DAY and all post-exam activities under the epidemic of COVID-19 in this “unusual” school year. Furthermore, developing your resilience through interesting activities and creative courses can empower you to be able to cultivate your resilience to face this unpredictable and ever-changing future. As for happiness, it is when the recess school bell rings every time, some of you would come knocking on my door and tell me, “Principal Lee, it is my birthday today!”, allowing me to gift you a birthday present of encouragement and blessings, or sometimes you would share your life with me under the epidemic this year, some students would also share their joy and sorrows with me…… Your eager voices always prompts me to temporarily put work aside and listen to what you have to say to me. I am honoured that you can share with me openly, thank you children!
Stepping into July, summer holiday is about to begin. I hope that all the children can explore new things and learn from their experiences through their daily life, read more books and study during the summer holiday. Stay healthy and have a meaningful holiday!
Mr. Lee Tak Hang,
School Principal
