Message from the principal – July 2024

May the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus be with you always!

Time flies, and we are already approaching the end of the semester. Despite the challenges brought by nearly three years of the pandemic, with God’s grace, we have finally fully restored all learning, overseas exchanges, visits, internal and external competitions, community services, as well as various activities organized by the Parent-Teacher Association this academic year. Children have actively participated in various learning activities, bringing important experiences to their growth.

As we approach the end of the academic year, it is a crucial moment for us to review all works and plans for future activities, especially as the next academic year will be the beginning of a new three-year development plan for the school. In order to better understand the needs of children and parents B and evaluate the effectiveness of various areas of work, besides daily interactions between myself, vice principals, core administrative staff, and class teachers/assistant class teachers with parents on campus during school hours, as well as through email or face-to-face meetings; further interactions with parents were conducted during the Parent-School Communication Day in January and during Assessment Paper Reading Day to enhance understanding and interaction.

Additionally, we utilized the Education Bureau's "School Development and Accountability Data Electronic Platform" and the school-based electronic survey platform to collect opinions from parents, aiming to understand their views on school policies and the needs for children's growth to achieve effective supervision.

. We are currently organizing and responding to the results of the school-based parent survey. We are attempting to summarize and respond to parents' opinions in the following areas:

        1.     Issues related to teaching, academic assessment, homework arrangements, and academic pressure.

        2.     Administrative management issues concerning restroom hygiene and campus environment.

        3.     Issues related to the quality of lunch and school uniforms, school teams, interest classes, and extracurricular activity training time for student growth and support.

We will further summarize and respond to the opinions gathered from the school-based parent survey, along with the review, reflection, and outlook of other school policies. On June 22nd (Saturday) morning during the "Parent Weekend" session, we will share in detail and interact with all parents. We hope that you can actively make time to attend and understand the various policies and arrangements implemented by the school, fostering mutual understanding and interaction. We understand that not every decision may meet everyone's expectations, but they are always made with the best interests of the children in mind. We thank all parents for their valuable suggestions, encouragement, and companionship. Following the "Parent Weekend," we will upload the responses from the school-based parent survey and a summary of the event on the intranet/MS TEAMS for parents to review.

As the summer vacation approaches, we hope that both children and parents can have a restful and rejuvenating break, experience new things, learn from them, grow healthily, and live a bright, exciting, and meaningful summer!

Finally, I want to express my gratitude to all the parents of APSW for your support and trust. You are our most important partners, and we have been working hand in hand to build dreams for our children's future. Let us look forward to this dynamic new academic year together! And may the children share the various experiences of the summer vacation in the new academic year.

Wishing everyone health in body, mind, and spirit!
